This city is different from the traditional city in the first two Saints Row games known as Stilwater in its huge skyscrapers and landscape. While playing this game most players may take note to the newly installed perks that the game has in store. One perk in particular is the chance to download content that will make your experience as a gamer that much more interesting. Expansions such as missions that will allow players to revive a lost friend, operate space crafts, and use eccentric weapons that are not found in the previous Saints Row games. This game also allows fans of the Saints Row trilogy to import their old characters from the previous games into the newer Saints Row: The Third.
Storyline:
Saints Row: The Third takes place with old time friends now Shaundi, Pierce, the iconic Johnny Gat, and your own player staging a robbery in Stilwater. After they unleash hell on the bank owned by the newly found gang known as the Syndicate, the Saints with all their fame and glory land themselves in jail. They are then approached by henchman loyal to the leader of the syndicate, in a request to arrange a meeting between yourself and him on his plane. This meeting quickly turns violent as the Belgium leader of the Syndicate attempts to muscle the Saint’s out of their wealth and take over as the new top guns of the city. After an action packed mission of free falling 30,000ft out of the plane in an attempt to save Shaundi and combat the new alliance of 3 gangs known as the Syndicate, the Saints find themselves in Steelport attempting to rise back to their glory days as the most ferocious gang the city has encountered.
Game play:
The game itself is played similar to that of the previous Saints Row games. While playing the game players may note a few subtle changes to how melee combat works. The player may realize that the right analogue stick enables them to dish out pretty brutal take-downs to their opponents regardless the situation. There are also button press sequenced fight scenes that allow the player to take out their opponent in various unique ways. Furthermore, gamers may also note that the car customization kit is much more elaborate in the way that they hookup their rides. Also players are able to drive jet planes and jet bikes as opposed to the standard helicopter or plane despite them having the same controls to maneuver as the previous games have done. Moreover is the fact that firearms in the game are now customizable to enable maximum pain to the many enemies the player is destined to encounter. Along with this new perk is the fact that players no longer have to spend in game money to add songs they may like to their play-list. They are now permitted to create play-list tracks from the pause menu to get instant access to the songs they wish to hear.
